Cub Spotlight Student

Cub Spotlight Katlyn Rogers and Korey Nolan

The Cub track team is spotlighting two athletes this week. Junior Katlyn Rogers and Senior Cory Nolan. Katlyn Rogers is a new addition to the Lady Cub uniform as she moved here this summer from Hale Center. Katlyn quickly made it known that she loves to run by making the Varsity Cross Country Team and helping them win a district championship. Cross Country was just a warm up to her season as she came into track season and quickly moved to the top of the ladder in the 400m dash. Katlyn won first place at every track meet she attended in the 400 until the District meet where she took second while also qualifying for Regionals in the 1600m relay.  Katlyn now sets her eyes at the Area and Regional meets coming up in the next few weeks. When Katlyn is not running, you can find her following all Cub sports, taking pictures for the yearbook. We look forward to following Katlyn throughout the track season and through her senior year. Good luck from towntalkradio.com!

Korey Nolan was the Cub track athlete to be chosen for Cub Spotlight this week. Korey was a member of the football team and the Runnin’ Cub Basketball Team that made it all the way to the Regional Finals. Since the Runnin’ Cubs had such a great run, Korey did not get to participate in the first two track meets of the year. That did not stop Korey from winning a district championship in High Jump at Denver City. Korey has been on the varsity track team all four years of high school and he has competed in multiple events. This year Korey is running all the relays as well as high jumping for the Cubs. Korey has been a staple in Cub sports over the past four years, and as he finished up his Cub career, we want to thank him for all the hard work that he has put in. Good luck, Korey, from all of us here at towntalkradio.com!
